The catering directorate currently operates five (5) student kitchens commonly known as Messes. Three (3) student kitchen (messes) - Western, Eastern and Nyayo are located strategically within the main campus. Parklands and Ruiru satellite campuses each have operational student kitchens. These five (5) student kitchens operate on a daily basis and exclusively serve the student community. The students who patronize these facilities enjoy quality and nutritious meals at subsidized rates. In addition, each of the student kitchen has a tuck shop, which serves various food items at market rates. The student kitchens provide catering venues for events hosted in the University.
